Getting skills from a class you don't play?
Ok, I play a mo/war, PvE, but I really like the idea of playing a mesmer in PvP. Can I get mesmer skills on my mo/war, do I have to start over as a me/ or /me in PvE, or can I change my secondary class and both retain my war skills, and receive the full line of mesmer ones?

you can change your profession in the desert by doing the mesmers path quest, then you can buy mesmer skills at the skills trainers, and i believe you can switch back to a warrior whenever u want

Indeed, Seekers Pass, Heroes Audience, and Destiny's gorge all have people in which you can switch your secondary class then buy all the skills for that class around the world.
Note you can only do this is if you are ascended, and can do it as many times as you wish.
Technically you can you use one charcter to unlock all skills, but remember each skill costs 1 skill point and after lvl 20, you get only 1 skill point in place of a level. This means you are in for a long hard grind to save enough points to get all skills.
I started out as a W/mo, switched to W/N to get all those skills, then back to W/mo to grind it out more skill points, then to W/E. After calculating my xp i am now "technically" level 52.

Brief question about unlimited switching of professions:
If you are an E/Me, but switch to an E/Mo after doing those profession quests after ascension, and you unlock a bunch of skills for the monk. What it you decide to go into an E/N? Would you still have the monk skills that you unlocked before if you wanted to become an E/Mo again?

Yes... if you have skills for your character and you change secondary professions you won't be able to use them until you switch back to that secondary again... then you have all of the same skills you had before.
